New Elden Ring Mod Brings Bill Clinton To The Game After Interesting Game Awards Moment

A new mod has brought former Bill Clinton to Elden Ring after the bizarre stage crashing at The Game Awards. During the final moments of the ceremony, 15-year-old Matan Evenoff snuck up to the stage to nominate the award to the former US president. The incident occurred after Elden Ring’s director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, completed his acceptance speech for the Game of the Year Award (GOTY), and it apparently inspired modders to bring Clinton to the game.

The Game Awards 2022 was filled with a myriad of world premieres, new announcements, and gameplay trailers. And it was nothing short of Clinton-themed trolling as well. Similar to previous iterations, this year’s awards show concluded with the crowning of the best game of the year. In the final moments of the ceremony, last year’s winner, Josef Fares, announced the GOTY as Elden Ring.

Four people including Miyazaki and his translator walked up the stage to accept the award. What they didn’t know was that Evenoff, who has no connection to the game’s creation, was also behind them. After Miyazaki completed his speech, Evenoff got behind the microphone and said “I want to nominate this award to my Reformed Orthodox Rabbi Bill Clinton,” which surprised and confused everyone and resulted in a quite memorable moment in The Games Awards’ history.

As you would expect, the Clinton nomination became a meme and, of course, inspired modders to add the former president to FromSoftware’s award-winning RPG. It will soon be possible to venture forth into the shattered lands of Elden Ring’s world as Clinton himself. Modder Arestame announced the “collaboration” between Elden Ring and Bill Clinton on their Twitter account and shared a trailer video of the president’s arrival at Limgrave. That being said, those who would like to assume the role of the 42nd president of the USA will have to wait a bit longer, as the developer has not provided a download link for their mod yet.

While the new Clinton content seems quite thrilling, the newly-crowned Elden Ring will offer even more content in coming days, says the game’s director. The dark action RPG just received a free Colosseum update that introduces a new PvP mode, allowing players to use their arsenal in the arenas throughout The Lands Between. Those who want to face other players and test their skills can head to the Colosseums in Limgrave, Leyndell, and Caelid now.

FromSoftware is far from wrapping up the post-launch content of Elden Ring as its immense success brought three more awards alongside the GOTY at The Game Awards. The title won Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best RPG on the same night.
