Jim Williams vs Gabriel Clemens

Williams comes off a career-best win against James Wade last time out, but the German Clemens looked fantastic in his opener. The scoring power of both lends itself a high-powered affair, and the line of 11.5 180s looks ripe for an over to land.

The bookies have it as a close game, with Clemens a slight favourite. I think his extra experience on the Ally Pally stage means that he’ll progress, but stick with over 11.5 180s to start off the treble.

Gerwyn Price vs Raymond van Barneveld

It’s the rematch we’ve all been waiting for…

Barney shocked the former World #1 in the Grand Slam, will the Welshman get his revenge?

The crowd will be totally against Price and although that normally doesn’t phase him, there will be extra vitriol on this occasion, rightly or wrongly, and especially if Barney gets in front early.

This could be closer than some think… I think Price wins in the end, but I love Barney on the +1.5 set handicap, meaning that 3 sets to the Dutchman lands you your bet.

Peter Wright vs Kim Huybrechts

Wright had a comfortable enough opening game, but Huybrechts will be a tricky customer. He might not be what he was when at his Premier League best, but he is a challenge for anyone when on his game; just last year he took Gerwyn Price to a last leg decider.

Wright appears to be over the majority of his troubles off the Oche thankfully, but he really shouldn’t take this game for granted. Like above, I do think he gets the job done, but I’m going for Huybrechts on the +2.5 set handicap to end our trio of selections.
